A MARSEILLE START-UP

The genesis of the project

It was in this district of the 4th arrondissement of Marseille that the first foundations of the Wizwedge project were laid.
Jean-Luc Guer focused his research on the structure of footwear, exploring its technical foundations in depth. His work led him to collaborate first with the CTC (Centre Technique de la Chaussure) to obtain crucial technical and industrial validations. He then turned to the Laboratoire de Biomécanique Appliquée (LBA) to refine the technical aspects, with the goal of optimizing a key component that would allow the final product to be functionally customized.

The culmination of 10 years of research

Jean-Luc Guer filed 4 patents between 2009 and 2011 protecting the innovations he wanted to apply to sports footwear. Thanks to partnerships established with the CTC, the LBA as well as the participation of professional athletes, Jean-Luc Guer's thoughts were confirmed and gave birth to the first prototypes. The tests carried out on these prototypes recognized the Wizwedge shoe as one of the safest and most efficient on the market among several shoes from other major brands. It was in 2012 that Wizwedge was born.

Wizwedge's Beginnings

A truly local company, Wizwedge has benefited from the support of several regional organizations, including the Impulse incubator, the PACA region, BPI France, and the Chamber of Commerce. These partners have played a key role in the company's development. In the first few years following its creation, the Wizwedge team focused its efforts on optimizing its first collection of football boots. In 2016, during its first year of public visibility, Wizwedge distinguished itself by winning three prestigious awards:
-the 1st Inosport Innovation Prize
Sport & Health,
-the 1st Prize Research Trophy and
of Medical Innovation,
-the title of Laureate of the La Provence Economic Trophies.
